In 2024, New Jersey’s housing market remained highly competitive, driven by strong demand and limited inventory. Home prices continued to rise, fueled by a combination of low supply and high buyer interest, particularly in desirable suburban and coastal areas. Many buyers faced bidding wars, with homes selling quickly and often above the asking price.

Despite higher mortgage rates, demand persisted, especially in commuter-friendly towns near New York City and Philadelphia. Luxury markets also saw steady interest, with certain ZIP codes ranking among the most expensive in the nation. As inventory slowly increased, buyers gained slightly more options, but affordability remained a challenge for many.
